Living Our Core Value: Leadership

Nena, abandoned at one of our hospitals, was adopted by Dr. Catherine Seeds
We’re part of a community where the need for animal support is ongoing. With local shelters, rescue organizations and animal welfare groups caring for a steady flow of stray, abandoned and surrendered pets, access to veterinary care is an important part of helping these animals find their way to healthy futures.
We’re proud to play a role in that effort by providing emergency and specialty care for animals whose medical needs go beyond what shelters and rescue organizations can provide. Many of these patients arrive with complex conditions that require hospitalization, advanced treatment or specialty expertise. In certain situations, we also provide discounted care to help community organizations stretch their resources further and care for more animals.
That commitment reflects what Leadership means to us. It's not just about what happens inside our hospital; it's about recognizing where we can make a difference and using our expertise and resources to help address the needs of the community around us.
In some cases, that commitment has even extended beyond the hospital. Teammates who have cared for rescue and shelter animals have gone on to adopt them, giving patients they've come to know and love a permanent home.
We’re proud to be part of the animal welfare network in Woodbridge and the surrounding communities, and we’ll continue looking for ways to use our expertise to help animals in need and support the organizations working on their behalf.
