One way we put that into practice is by taking a closer look at the waste we generate in our hospital. Items like scrubs, linens, towels and other textiles can easily end up in the trash, but keeping them out of landfills is an important step in reducing our environmental footprint.
That’s where our collaboration with Helpsy comes in. Helpsy is a textile recycling organization that collects soft goods and finds opportunities to reuse or recycle them into new materials. By providing a dedicated way to recycle textiles, we can help make sure these everyday items have a purpose beyond their initial use.
Our hospital and Helpsy operate out of the same building. This makes it simple for our team to recycle materials that might otherwise be thrown away.
Doing the right thing doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes, it starts with what we choose not to throw away.
