Thomas D. Scavelli, DVM
Diplomate ACVS

Founder and Director of Garden State Veterinary Specialists. He is a 1982 graduate of The New York State College of Veterinary Medicine, Cornell University. Following graduation, Tom completed an internship and 3 year surgical residency program at The Animal Medical Center in New York City. He became a Diplomate of The American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 1987 and headed a surgical service at The Animal Medical Center for 6 years. He established a surgical referral practice (Veterinary Surgical Specialists) in 1990 which has evolved into Garden State Veterinary Specialists.

Roxane Lea Collins, DVM, MS
Diplomate ACVS

Roxane is a 1994 graduate of the Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She completed a small animal rotating internship in 1995 and a surgical residency in 1998 at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She remained on staff there for a one-year clinical instructorship, and became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 1999. Roxane practiced mobile surgery at Veterinary Specialists of Northern New Jersey for one year, and then joined GSVS in December of 2000. Dr. Collins has authored several publications in the veterinary literature.

Michael G. Hoelzler, DVM
Diplomate ACVS

Michael is a 1999 graduate of the Western College of Veterinary Medicine. He completed a small animal rotating internship at the Ontario Veterinary College in 2000, and a surgical internship at Affiliated Veterinary Specialists in Jacksonville, Florida in 2001. He completed a surgical residency at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. Michael joined GSVS in the spring of 2004, and became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2005. Dr. Hoelzler has authored several manuscripts and book chapters on related surgical topics.

Ryan Fulcher, DVM
Diplomate ACVS

Ryan is a 2001 graduate of Tufts University School of Medicine. He completed a small animal rotating internship in 2002 and a surgical residency in 2005 at The Animal Medical Center in New York City. He joined the GSVS surgery department in the spring of 2005. Ryan became a Diplomate of The American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2006.

Roelof Irausquin, DVM
Practice limited to Surgery

Roelof is a 1999 graduate of the University of Florida School of Veterinary Medicine. He completed a small animal rotating internship in 2000, a surgical internship in 2002, and a surgical residency in 2005, all at Garden State Veterinary Specialists.

Brenden Anders, DVM
Practice limited to Surgery

Brendan is a 2000 graduate of the University Of Georgia College Of Veterinary Medicine. He completed a small animal rotating internship at the Regional Veterinary Referral Center in Springfield, Virginia in 2001, and was in general practice in Brooklyn, New York until 2004. Brendan completed a surgical internship at Garden State Veterinary Specialists in 2005, and is currently a surgical resident at GSVS.

Tracy Nicole Frey, DVM
Practice limited to Surgery

Tracy is a 2002 graduate of the University Of Illinois College Of Veterinary Medicine. She completed a small animal rotating internship at Long Island Veterinary Specialists in Plainview, New York in 2003, and was in general practice in Deer Park, New York until 2004. Tracy has been a surgical intern at Garden State Veterinary Specialists since 2004, and is currently a surgical resident at GSVS.
