Ian B. Spiegel, VMD, MHS, DACVD
Garden State Veterinary Specialists welcomes Ian B. Spiegel, VMD, MHS, DACVD to our hospital. Dr. Spiegel is a boarded veterinary dermatologist who, along with his experienced team of veterinary dermatology technicians has been working in the New Jersey area evaluating and treating dermatologic cases for several years. A member of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology since 2005, Dr. Spiegel is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, School of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation Ian completed in an internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at The New York State College of Veterinary Medicine, Cornell University. His internship was followed by a residency in veterinary dermatology and allergy at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Spiegel has a special interest in the diagnosis and treatment of skin disease, ear disease, and allergies.
The dermatology and allergy service performs a variety of procedures, including:
- Video otoscopy/deep ear flushes
- CT scans to assess the middle ear
- Skin mass removals (local anesthesia)
- Allergen specific immunotherapy (allergy shots)
- Anal sac expression
- Pedicures
- Medicated bathing
- Hydrotherapy
- Long-term planning for medical management of allergies
The dermatology and allergy service will strive to provide the highest quality of care for your companion. Jacqueline B. Watson, DVM
Education:
- Graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine
- Completed a one-year internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Red Bank Animal Hospital, Tinton Falls, NJ
- Completed a three-year residency in veterinary dermatology at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine, member of the Phi Zeta veterinary honors society
- Board eligible for the ACVD.
